Mickie Brown is the Project Associate for the Doris Duke Fellowships for the Promotion of Child Well-Being, an initiative of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation facilitated by Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago. Brown splits her time working to support the fellowship’s interdisciplinary peer learning network, as well as assisting with research and project coordination for the JPB - Toxic Stress Study.

Prior to Chapin Hall, Brown started her career as one of the first employees of the start-up social business, Top Box Foods, a non-profit designed to help alleviate the food desert issue plaguing the city of Chicago and its neighboring communities. Since its inception, Top Box Foods has provided over 1 million nutritious meals to its customers. 

Brown received her Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Public Policy Studies from DePaul University in Chicago, IL.
